Serious Sam 3 DLC Announced

Croteam and Devolver Digital announce Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile, DLC that will bring new campaign missions and the return of some familiar enemies and weapons. Here's word on the pack, which is expected in October:

Croteam and Devolver Digital have announced Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile, an all-new series of missions for the blockbuster gonzo-shooter Serious Sam 3: BFE that is set to release on PC October 2012. The explosive new expansion will contain three new campaign missions set within the story of Serious Sam 3: BFE and follow Sam “Serious” Stone as he tracks down a powerful artifact on an ancient island to swing the tide of battle against Mental’s invading alien horde.

“Croteam is very excited about the reception Serious Sam 3: BFE received from our fans so we’ve worked really hard to make sure the Jewel of the Nile expansion tells more of Sam’s story and cranks up the insanity,” said Davor Hunski, Chief Creative Guy at developer Croteam.

Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile follows the legendary hero to the mysterious Temple of Isis on the island or Philae where a monstrous temple guardian lies in wait. Set in the midst of the main Serious Sam 3: BFE storyline, gamers will battle through three new campaign missions against the unrelenting hordes of Mental’s forces including the re-introduction of two familiar monstrous faces. Sam’s arsenal of awesome expands as well as the two secret weapons from the main Serious Sam 3: BFE storyline – the laser gun and sniper rifle – make their way into the spotlight in Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile.

“So does this island of Philae in Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile have any topless beaches?” asked Fork Parker, CFO of Devolver Digital. “The only thing better than fast-paced, over-the-top action is a perfect pair of digital flesh melons.”

It's weird... I feel the opposite about Croteam vs. Valve.

I wish Croteam would try some completely new IP with their engine.
I wish Valve would come out with HL 3 or Ep 3.

It is probably because I don't like the SS series very much.

Loved SS3. If it's decent and priced right...why not?

It wasn't horrible (the final boss level felt tacked on at the last second) but I'll be getting my mindless shooter action elsewhere, probably Borderlands 2.
