What I usually do in that situation is give a buddy a list of games I'm looking for and get him to gift them to me, then repay him when I get back. That's a good idea. Thanks Verno. I leave on the 14th and return on the 20th, so I might catch a few things. I admit that I have much of what I want already. Dragon Age, Witcher 2, and a few others are in my wishlist, though. |

I've got my Steam Wishlist. I'll try to limit myself to only buying stuff that hits the under 10 dollar mark, that I REALLY want(but maybe not at full price!)...aka, Skyrim, Dead Rising 2, Batman 2, Warlock, Rage, etc.
Still, I definitely have more games than I have time to play, and it's been that way for years. Curse you, universe! |

| And this means I'll wait until I buy Arma. I really want to play DayZ, but I can wait. I'm still enjoying Orcs Must Die (though it's growing a bit old - I'll still get 5-7 or so hours out of it) and have another game I want to start. |

I'll probably spend a small fortune on the Summer Sale, like usual, but I'm in no hurry - I can wait 'til they see fit to do it. |

Shame they cancelled the dominatrix expansion also.. I thought SR3 did moderately well at retail? Oh it did really well at retail and digitally according to Volition/THQ. THQ is just boned for cash so they dialed up the DLC shit to 11, go add it all to your cart in Steam for some amusement.
It was a really solid game overall but they cut out quite a bit of content. There was some lazy mission designs too, the first half of the game is basically Activities disguised as story missions. SR1 was the same way, it was basically just a bare engine with some lite gang control minigames and such. SR2 ended up being what the first should have been and so I'm holding out hope that SR4 will be good now that they finished rewriting the engine and all that. |

It's like $74 for everything regular price in addition to the game cost, I think I'd pay $20 tops. I was wondering wtf was up when I hit up Lets Pretend and it had not even half of the number of costumes that SR2 had. Sure enough I did some googling on the DLC and tons there. The cancellation of the Dominatrix content was just a piss off, the one thing that would restore most of the missing sandbox stuff from SR2. I love me some Saints Row but man THQ really took that game to the chopping block.
Other than that I can't really think of much that I would want in a sale. Previous Steam sales have been pretty comprehensive already. I really tried to get into Saints Row 3 after being mildly amused with the previous games... but could never shake the "plastic-y" feeling of the game engine. Shame they cancelled the dominatrix expansion also.. I thought SR3 did moderately well at retail? I think it did well (want to say it was the best selling in the series, and they keep swearing people bought the DLC), the problem is the rest of THQ (cough*UDRAW!*cough) is hemorrhaging.
Supposedly (if you believe PR speak), the expansion was folded into SR4.

Wow.. just WOW. You have to dig *really* deep in your bag of random vitriol to get so up in arms about this simple little thing.
I mean.. So what if Valve raped your dog and then burned all your relatives alive stacked atop one-another in an outhouse? I understand how this would make you want to curse Valve's name for life and everything.. but FUCKING VALVE here they go again! They really took a healthy piss in your Cheerios this morning with such an arrogant announcement, didn't they!?

Last game I bought was Skyrim. In my old age 99% of the games out there don't interest me. Hey you games! Get off my lawn!
But I'm pretty bored lately so I think I'll pick up: Portal 2, Serious Sam 3, Maybe Bulletstorm but I'm gonna look for a demo first for that. Hell, I might even pick up Rage.
I hope they're on sale. |
