id Hasn't Forgotten RAGE

Gamereactor UK offers some quotes from back at E3 where they caught up with Tim "Sam" Willits, creative director at id Software. When asked about RAGE, he reassures them there "may" be an announcement soon regarding the shooter: "We have a few things that we may announce soon. We haven't forgotten about the title." Thanks VG247.

Megatextures have saved PC gaming. Everyone is using megatextures. Problem with megatextures is that from afar things look wonderful, when you get up close thy look like the textures from a N64 game.

Does this somehow relate to the Smarshing Pumpkins?

James Woods: Oh that's fun. That sounds like you had a fun time. Where would I fit in with the fun time, huh? Where does James Woods fit into the fun?

PR doublespeak. "We have a few things we MAY announce soon."

What kind of nonsense is that? Either you have a few things you're going to announce, or you don't. Why the smokescreen?

How the mighty have fallen.

The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

It was the most disappointing game I bought last year. I'd actually be better with them forgetting it and moving on to something new, really.

Rage? That's the stuff people buy in bottles about this product right.

I'd forgotten about Rage to be honest. I remember when Id releases were a big deal. Now everyone has a decent 3D engine and Id is still painting the world brown and using the same gameplay from 15 years ago... Carmack should just quit like he obviously wants to and concentrate on his rockets.

They're trying to figure out a way to use all those game of the year edition boxes they sent for mass print before release.

So they wait 10 months after their mediocre game launched to say,'maybe we might possibly say something soon about doing something perhaps.'

It would seem the time to release something to make the game more attractive has long since passed. Maybe if it coincided with a massive sale they might rekindle some interest, but I still think its too little way too late.
