Tried the patch - worked flawlessly.

That's too bad, community should be united.
Worst yet, not sure since I never visit but I've heard he has started charging for it now or access to his site.
Additionally if any of you guys only play this every 6 months or a year, I suggest waiting for the Library level completion. Iirc it's burgermeister from Clan Quest mods making and adding the Library level which was cut by Troika. Wesp has been coordinating with Brian Mitsoda now running Double Bear who's Kickstarter is still running for the amazing looking game Dead State.

However unless he has removed all the added content, like his textures then it's not "Just a Fix" at all, unlike BUP Basic. It's more like self promotion, since he claims it's only fixes and used it to divide the community.
He was forced to remove all the content he used from BUP and Wesp had to Trademark it to stop him, iirc. +1 From everything I saw/read, Tessera was/is a raaaaaging egomaniacal douchebag (going well beyond just the VTMB stuff), and his most fervent supporters tend to be huge pains in the arse as well... |

Thank you for the link, MysterD. I could easily see the troubleshooting there coming in handy, running Win7 64.
And it's only a 2 gig download, so even if I end up having to redo it a few times, it's not that big of a deal...(only took like a half hour to grab it last night). |

Look here for more info on Steam's V:TM-BL Forum here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2025035
Yes, you should be able to get Wesp's or Tess's unofficial patches going w/ Steam version.
I recommend after you download Vampire: Bloodlines from Steam (patched up to Official Patch 1.2), you "archive" the entire game or back-up that game folder in its clean state somewhere else - in case you need to start back from scratch here to mod it up however you like.
Anytime you mod a Steam game, you probably should do this - especially on BIG-sized games. This is just in case 2 things could happen. 1. Something goes wrong w/ your game somehow from trying to mod it 2. Or Steam releases a new official patch that breaks your already modded-game - probably won't happen w/ Bloodlines b/c the game's old and Troika's gone (RIP), but I think this has been a problem w/ many who've modded Dead Island and Skyrim - and why I've never had problems w/ Dead Island and Skyrim (b/c I never modded them!).
This way, you don't have to re-download the entire thing to get back to a clean state, if you need to reinstall it to get back to a clean state.

I'm pretty sure they have a version of the fan patch that doesn't add content but just fixes stuff. I know, but since the other one is designed for people like me it just makes sense to go with it. Plus it's finished. |

It is well known that Bloodlines was released unfinished and rushed. The plus version of the Unofficial Patch restores a lot of unused content found in the game files so it's almost a kind of restoration project compared to the basic version which stays true to the original released game. Expect actual new content in some future patch as we try to recreate the cut library level according to infos from Brian Mitsoda himself using lots of assets already done by Troika! |
