Source Filmmaker Announced; Meet the Pyro Released

The Team Fortress 2 Website caps off a few days of teasing with the release of Meet the Pyro, the ninth and final class-based video from Team Fortress 2. Valve uses this hot debut to announce they are working on a public version of the Source Filmmaker, which they use to create all such animated shorts. The Source Filmmaker is currently in closed beta testing for release later this year (Valve Time). In the meantime you can read up on the project on the new Source Filmmaker Website, where there's a trailer introducing the project.

haven't had a good laugh in awhile and this vid was what i needed. Pyro = Gru from Despicable Me there i'll say it. nicely done and the plot just fits the character perfectly.

Good thing I wasn't drinking anything while I watched that. Their "Meet the..." vids haven't made me laugh that hard since Demoman's 'prancing aboot with their heads full of eyeballs' line.

My god, they actually did it! It took them 5 years, but they finally finished the Meet The Team videos. Congratulations Valve, this is what completing something feels like. I know it's an odd feeling, but you'll grow to like it.

Holy shit, is that Source Filmmaker cool. How long before someone animates a Half Life 2 movie? I think we'll see a good one by Q1 2013.
