Diablo III Patch Reduces Item Wear

Blizzard announces a new patch is now live for Diablo III in the Americas, updating their action/RPG sequel to version 1.0.3a. The new version addresses several bugs and also reduces the amount of "wear-and-tear" damage to items by 50% (not to be confused with the 10% item endurance death penalty).

Equipped items will now take "wear-and-tear" durability damage at half the previous rate

Please note that durability loss as the result of normal combat is different from the 10% durability loss characters will incur when they die. Equipped items have always suffered durability loss while fighting, and we are simply slowing the rate at which the loss occurs.

Fixed several gold and leveling exploits

We are simply slowing the absurd rate we increased it to on a whim without any logical reason. Also fixed bug where players could level up and obtain gold while enjoying themselves in a way we don't like, this will change daily to suit our purposes.

People still play Diablo 3?

I wondered that as well. Twice through was more than enough...

I fixed my issue with the game.

I simply fired up Diablo 2 and created a ladder character.

How about removing all damage apart from the death penalty? I haven't played D3 since the 1.0.3 patch but I'm not exactly looking forward to it. Blizzard keep fucking with systems that were working fine simply because a tiny minority abused them.

I don't support companies that don't have the resources to make something and release it once. All this patching and stuff is so pathetic and frustrating to the consumer.

It makes you want to play on a private unpatched server.

Blizzard just can't get themselves out of the WoW mindset for one second. What works for WoW won't necessarily work for D3, fucknobs!

If you don't like where gaming is heading, stop giving your money to the people who are taking it in that direction.
