It really whips the llama's ass.

I rarely listen to music on my computer and when I do it's usually through YouTube. In the rare case that I have the file or CD, VLC gets the job done.

I use MediaMonkey. Not perfect, but I could never get foobar2000 setup the way I want (unless I want to learn a new programming language to do so).

I also ditched winamp for foobar2000, ages back. Does what I need it to do.

I use Winamp as well, in a tiny skin, but I haven't actually loaded it up in ages. At work I use Spotify, which has 85% of what I'd want. At home I really don't listen to music anymore. I don't spend enough time in front of the computer at home to warrant it.

I still use Winamp, but find myself listening to Pandora stations more often these days.

heheh

"AOL famously acquired the company in June 1999 for $80-$100 million—and Winamp almost immediately lost its innovative edge."

I use a heavily customized foobar2k setup but it was absolutely horrid to get to where its at now. I have multiple backups of it because I would never undertake it again.

Very good article on Winamp. I still use it over anything else, but I remember the problems it was having when AOL got involved.
