| At this point they are just fighting Facebook inertia more than anything else. |

I really enjoy browsing the 'whats hot' list, and then hopping over and checking out what's happening in my town. my friend's list is relatively quiet which is fine as i dont really use it to keep up with my friends anyways. To me, i think of it as a nice blend of twitter and facebook...it's good stuff... at least in my town. I have no "friends" on it, a few regularly posting co-workers, and a ton of interesting "strangers". It's a great place to go for a lot of interesting news and links with opinions and commentary that can be filtered quickly and easily. I mostly see a lot of tech, software, programming, game industry stuff but also a ton of stuff from NASA and the U.S. government who have really embraced it. The White House and State Department update multiple times a day. |

Pretty silly article about G+ there. Some people didn't pick avatars and Page hasn't made a public post in almost a month... GHOST TOWN!
And then of course he had to update the article to mention that Page just made a new post.
Goes on to say: As anyone with social-media experience knows, a user who hasn't bothered to replace their place-holder avatar with something more personal is either a newbie, not genuinely engaged, a spammer, or all three. I don't have an avatar either and am not any of those things. |
