Out of the Blue

Looks like today will be the last day of our heat wave. The heat has no impact on Manstovia, as we will be cooking a chicken on the rotisserie later. I had a yen to do a pork loin or some pork chops, but after a Flintstones-style batch of ribs last week, MrsBlue suggested holding off a bit before another pork project (if only the government had such discretion).

Try eating some veg and fruit once in a while, Blue. You eat way too much meat and meat by-products.

I don't actually mention most of what I eat here... just chronicling the adventures of Manstovia, where many a veggie gets grilled as well.

And meat by-products? Really? Do you know what those are? I don't even let my dogs eat that stuff.

Have you guys seen this Steam analyzer before?

http://www.lambentstew.com/webblog/miniproject/steamanalysis?steamid=Sepharo

Apparently I haven't played 62% of the games I've bought

Also keep in mind that Steam didn't track game play time since the beginning. It shows I have 0.2 hours on HL2 and 0 hours for EP1 and EP2. I know I've played through HL2 three or four times and each episode at least twice.

Does anybody know when Steam began tracking play time? I believe it was some time in 2009 based on the oldest game in my list that has what I believe is an accurate play time.

EDIT: http://www.lambentstew.com/webblog/home/steamanalysishelp

I found the answer to my own question. Steam started tracking play time in March 2009, and they're working on a way to keep the DLC from being counted as a game not played.

It doesn't count DLC, as it doesn't count all my Fallout New Vegas DLC, or Borderlands DLC.

Plus I know I've put time into games on that list that it's showing me playing 0 hours in.

That is cool, but it isn't right. I notice Steam is really bad at keeping data for playtime.

On top of that, it counts DLC as a GAME....soo....I dunno. COol project, but way off base.

Also, it wouldn't be accurate in my case since it counts games that I've already played, like XCom and the sequels, but have yet to DL and replay the Steam versions.

Sepharo I guess you are quite handy at Counter Strike!

That's not even a quarter of the actual hours spent playing that game

And people on my friends list have time played like this: 70.3 hrs / 5,348.3 hrs and yet I still destroy them.

Btw Blue, the chick your grilling is she a blonde, brunette, red-head? Do we need to send her family a 'Thank you for a Delicious Dinner!' card? And are you using the 'How to cook Human's for dinner' cookbook from the Twilight zone?

Just asking...

Yeah I'm having a hard time believing I've already played more Civ 5 than TF2, especially since I think I've played Civ 5 about 4 times and TF2 for like a two year period.

Might be the last day of the heat wave, but the respite will be short-lived... here in Michigan we had temps up in the mid to upper 90s until Thursday, and it's looking like by Wednesday or Thursday it'll be back into the 90s. Looks like you'll get a week's break from the heat, then the blast furnace resumes.

"Why are schizophrenics starting to respond better to placebos"

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I would guess that placebos are "working" better because more people embrace the concept that their mental illness can be solved with drugs. So when they take the placebo they're willing to believe they'll get better and they do, whereas perhaps in the past they were more resistant to the idea.
