Jesus people are hypocrites. For me, it has less to do with that and more to do with the fact that by using sexy women, they're making it obvious the only people they're interested in attracting are straight men. What about those of us who aren't interested in staring at women? Why not try to sell to us, too? I don't mean by making "games for women" or any crap like that, or by putting "booth boys" in the booths. I mean by considering that maybe it's time to appeal to more than the old guard.
And thank you for objecting to the use of the word "slut." It's such an ugly word, and it's almost universally used to degrade women. Well, for you there's the Planetside 2 booth guy: http://i.minus.com/jbxrZId5Df4YR0.jpg |

A guy being sexually active with multiple sex partners is considered a "stud", or at the very least as having a healthy male sex life. Why then should women be put down for doing the same thing? Let them revel in their sexuality as well; fair is fair after all. I never said anywhere that slut was the domain of women. I've always been all for sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll, but we're not talking about a personal lifestyle choice here, we're talking about trading sex(uality) for money. The whole thing is cheap and explotive on both sides - as in the companies using them and them allowing it. There's nothing good in this, which is much different from a healthy sex life. It's really just a milder form of prostitution. Even porn stars are more honest by taking it all the way. That's a whore. Sluts just have a lot of wanton sex. And both terms can refer to males and females of all sexualities. And probably neither should be used to refer to booth babes. |

I didn't notice any torso twist in Hawken. That and the footage worries me a bit. Like someone said it looked like a regular twitch shooter but with mechs. As a former Quake/UT player I like twitch shooter but I love Mech games just as much.
I used to enjoy going toe to toe against a Daishi with my Mauler. The abitlity to twist the torso gave me the option to sacrifice my back armor and specific torso or arm weapon to survive long enough and get the kill. Well that along with movement of course. In other words, I could also use the twist to distribute the damage.
Time will tell I guess... |

Agreed, euni. Good to hear about Hawken though I wish it would have been just a standalone game with multiplayer. I am seriously fucking stoked for PS2 at this point though.

Glad to hear good things about Hawken. I was a bit worried with some of the gameplay videos that were really arcadey, they just made it look like CoD in mechs. Of course, with MWO coming around about the same time it might behoove them to differentiate themselves a little bit.
I was a little skeptical about 2012 for games, but Planetside 2 (Totalbiscuit's streams were fucking amazing!), Mechwarrior Online, Hawken... shaping up to look like a great year for F2P games.

I don't get it either. I like games. I like tits. Combining the two can only have positive results. These girls need to make money, and they obviously don't mind since they agree to it. I guess feminists pushing for women's choice doesn't include choices that feminists don't agree with. |

Unreal 3 makes sense. The SW 1313 demo was pretty graphically impressive with all those flames and crap flying everywhere. But the graphics, while well designed and implemented didn't look as crisp as they could have. Frostbite 2 still looks better over all.
The gameplay just looked meh. Honestly the gameplay looked like the SP part of MW2. |
