| I think the remote contributed quite a bit to having more channels. With the weaker interface, too many channels would be a bother. Being able to sit and keep flipping channels when something isn't interesting to you without ever getting up is a worse problem then "oh, I need to get up and go flip it to my other show". |

Fatties blame everyone but themselves. That's the problem in the world, a lack of responsibility. "Put the fork down". Yeah it's frustrating. Just exercise a bit and have a modicum of restraint with food. Going for as little as a few 30 minutes walks a week is enough to get by even. I eat like a slob half the time. I just make sure that I don't eat the entire pizza in one sitting, I actually go the gym and do other physical activities. Also stop drinking soda, there are other tasty fruit drinks that actually have some nutritional value and don't cost you 400 empty calories a serving. I love gaming and TV as much as the next guy but there are other fun things to do outside and as a bonus you actually meet people.
I see so many fat little kids these days, its really disheartening that many parents just let their electronic devices serve as a virtual babysitter. We got to play games when I was a kid but there were time limits and we were encouraged to do other things. |

.net_Drifter wrote on May 24, 2012, 01:37: Thor just felt like the odd man out in both his movie and The Avengers. I think that is just the nature of the character. I forget where I heard it, but a interesting character concept for Thor was that he was just a normal human that through a twist of events (can't remember the specifics) received god-like powers and basically went crazy and started calling himself Thor and that he was a Norse god. He was a crazy guy with the powers of a god. Felt a lot more believable to me than trying to establish the actual existence of the Norse pantheon and its mythology which is nothing but pain, suffering and eventually Ragnarok (more pain and suffering). |

I wonder which contributes more to obesity: 1. Using a TV remote while watching TV 2. Sitting in front of a monitor attached to a computer while playing games and posting on forums I'd guess the one that contributes most would be the one you do the most?
As for Joss Whedon, I've always thought he was overrated. I liked the original Buffy movie, didn't much care for the series or Angel. Firefly looked like it should be interesting, but what little I saw of it didn't really drawn me into it, although I did like Serenity. Doll House . . . I was glad it was canceled. Avengers now, I'll admit I did like. The only issue I had with it, and with the Marvel movies in general, was that Thor seemed to be the one character that stuck out and didn't fit in. The Iron Man and Hulk movies they seemed to try and keep a little bit of grounding in reality. Even Captain America did to an extent, but Thor . . . that movie pretty much threw that grounding right out the window and rode over it with a unicorn that had a rainbow colored mane. Thor just felt like the odd man out in both his movie and The Avengers.

So, obesity is a problem with your genes after all... your born with it Even if that were true - which it isn't - people weren't designed to be sitting around their asses all day and night. Not to mention that we have a little something called the SIRT1 gene that controls obesity naturally when we act like we were designed to act - which is to say a limited and healthier intake of food and regular excercise. |

| Apparently one of my great uncles improvised his own remote control by taking the controls off the TV unit and connecting them by a long wire, so he could have them on the coffee table. A long-reach wired remote. Very much a tinkerer. Shame he didn't live to see the internet. |

Joss Whedon Is On The Fence About Directing The Avengers Sequel. Was never a huge fan of the guy, but I felt like he did pretty well with Avengers. Marvel would be stupid to not agree to any demands, and sign him immediately.
