Im pretty sure that lag accounts only for a small ammount of problems, why would the game engine stream data every few seconds (like when I throw out a chakram?) It makes no sense. I have been throwing those things left and right with no slowdown. I do occasionally spike to ~700 ping though. |

None of the PC games up till now rocked my world, so I ain`t expecting much from anything supposedly Next gen coming soon. Next Gen is nothing but a Buzzword.
Deeds not words. The games Devs and Marketers should take note. |

I get 3007 dropouts every few minutes while playing (with the solution that I should basically retool every networking setting Windows has to offer), and have also run into US server maintenance in Australia at the exact time everyone here would normally be looking to play the game. 85% of the time I try and play, I either can't connect, or get booted back to the menu screen.
It's sad Blizzard have soiled a great game with this kind of crap. |

Played all day on the Euro servers yesterday, no problems, no disconnects, no lag. Ok some lag.

Its just horribly unoptimized, Blizzard has gotten lazy. They have also been overusing a lot of particle and lighting effects ala WOW. I HATE THAT SHIT, so graphically speaking the level design, characters, monsters, weapons all look Diabloesque dark and gritty, but the effects are mostly wow shine, sparkle and bling.
I will probably just have to get used to it, but I still dont like it. With that said the game is shitloads of fun, although I miss the ability to simply cross swords with someone and annoy the shit out of them. |

| Faceshit who works in the background is there , and you may say " its opt in opt out , " but it still sucks data from you and THAT's one of the reason why the ping works like it do , but hej thats just me and my folie hat , blizz is not the game dev for the gamers anymore |

Yeah lag is always another factor. Even with 5+Mbps DSL - and it's usally damn speedy everywhere I go - whenever I played WoW it was always a 200-250ms ping which is just pathetic given how much money they were raking in. I have to play on a data center on the other side of the continent why? Hardcore is going to be impossible to play for a lot of people. |

GoG.com games don't have issues when my internet is down I would like to buy it, but going on their forum still shows several disconnects per minute(that's just people that DC and immediately come post), people actually losing characters on disconnects, unable to advance from Normal after finishing, losing achievements that can't be regained, having several lag reports per minute w/ constant > 400ms pings, reports of frustrating lag deaths, a mysterious character just dies randomly with full health bug, etc. etc.
No doubt plenty outages to come because the above scenarios are game killing bugs. It's a darn risky $60, some people apparently have few issues, but the risk of throwing the dice is obviously real. |
