Dreadline Unveiled

This teaser trailer promotes Dreadline, an upcoming game from Eerie Canal, a startup formed by veterans of Harmonix and Irrational Games. Here's what they have to say about the project at this time: "Weíve been working on it for about 6 months now, and itís starting to look really cool. (You can see it in the last few seconds of our trailer.) Our Titanic level is pretty playable, but not polished yet to a point that we want to show people. You can control your team of monsters, run around the ship, and just generally rip people to shreds. Itís pretty awesome. We still have a long way to go as far as content, more characters, and finishing up some of the game systems. Weíre really pumped about where we are with it right now though, and canít wait to release some more screenshots and videos." There's an interview for the game on RPG Codex that says the game will be released for Windows PCs in the third quarter of this year and another Day Z interview on PC Gamer.

i like new ideas, but this has the potential to be really damaging to our hobby and generally offensive. people don't like violent games, people don't like "modern" war games, people don't like when we can go around shooting unarmed civilians.

Not saying it's right, but the people who make the fuss about this sort of thing are the people who influence the uninformed/ignorant general public and that's when they start sticking their noses in our business. No good will come of this.

Ummmm...

Prototype
Hitman games
Carmageddon
Rampage
GTA
Saints Row
etc

Even games where civs don't get targeted cause frothing outrage from conservatives over violence etc, so I'm not sure why a cartoon splatterfest style game is going to create more drama than anything else (particularly since it doesn't look like a AAA title... X )

And some people love modern warfare games (pun intended), some people don't.
