Honestly, I can't believe that I keep hearing these dumbass reasons for buying D3.

Yours has been the worst, so far.

? wow. Why the aggression? he is going to buy a game that he will enjoy that is similar to a game that isn't out yet. Big whoop. I also bought TL2.
If you're only buying D3 because you don't have TL2, then that would mean when TL2 comes out that you're done with D3. Why would you drop $60 to play a game for 2 months then start TL2?

Not to mention you're buying into all the actiblizz/online-drm/control garbage...

I actually enjoy Hack and Slash RPG's..in fact, I spent the better part of the day trying to find a game like that for my android tablet for my trip tomorrow.
I will still get TL2, but after seeing the D3 chatter on my guilds FB page, it seems like a lot of people are going to pick it up. Lots of videos, reviews, and general chatter about the game, lots of good friends are amped up for it.
I will have time to play both...no need to be so hostile.

Seriously? I've paid $60 for games that I've ended up playing a lot less than 2 months. Spending the equivalent of $1/day seems like a decent deal to me.

I loved his take on multiplayer, where everyone sits around camping until someone finally moves...

I should have got the game when it was $30, right before it went live. Hopefully it'll be apart of a steam summer sale, and I can grab it then.

I'm sure that you're intention was not one that so much as resembled entertaining anybody but yourself; still I've got to say that made me laugh a good bit, given the context.

Yeah Day Z is only at alpha and is soooo good. Winchester lever shotgun w/slugs - win. Staying away from the bigger cities, surviving from villages in the countryside. So very immersive.

Btw, the central player data/auth server seems much improved today. Just takes some patience to get onto a server and then it was no problem. Well, the server had some occasional lag but nothing too bad.

Just realized I got ARMA2 as a gift some time ago - so even though I missed the sale, I have no problem dropping 19.99 on it. Installing, hope to check out DayZ tonight!!!!

No it doesn't. He could very well continue to play D3 and wait on touchlight 2 to go on sale later. And you'll totally shit your pants if that happens...

Yeah, I have the ArmA 2 Free installed right now, but I'm really just not a fan of the series, but after watching some videos of Day-Z that actually looks really fucking cool and probably worth purchasing Combined Ops next time it goes on sale.

And this is why companies are idiots for not allowing mod support. Arma2 isn't on that list because of Arma2. It's on their because of a mod. Lots of people are doing what you're thinking about doing - buying the game to play the mod. The number of sales they are getting because of this is substantial. All because they supported modding the game.

You'd think more companies would look at success stories like this and realize there's a solid financial incentive.

How? Too much work to put it into their POS console ports.
