Why was that first poster moaning like a dying calf?

I really didn't get his ire...

Was modding in the first 2 Max Payne games a big thing? I never really saw much relating to the modding community for 1 and 2.

There was one very good mod for Max Payne, Kung Fu mod. It was popular enough that bootleggers in China released a pre-modded version of the game and sold it on the streets as "Kung Fu Max Payne"
Is there a list of the top Max Payne mods?

Yeah Kung Fu MP provided one of the best gaming experiences of my life.

Max Payne 2 has a ton of mods for it, including many Total Conversions.

Can't wait for this third one, although recently watching E3 Trailer for the original Max Payne makes me very nostalgic and longing for the same game, just using the MP3 engine.

I am 98% sure they will not release level editing or modding tools to the community, and actually couldn't give a shit about the community... but who knows. The leftover 2% assures that it's Rockstar, and they allowed modding for GTA.

So. After watching that, I think you'll need to make another launch trailer that actually sells the viewers on the key features of the game. Oh, and make sure the second launch trailer talks about how you're not "nickle and diming" us with your DLC packs; talk about how DLC packs will be free; and talk about how you'll be providing editor tools for modding and mapping. At least mapping; and you and I both know your engine is using the quake engine, and thus a level editor easily exists for max payne. Yup, give us that editor--and you'll win back half the audience you lost recently.

I'm pretty sure they're not going to do any of that. Judging by the two posters who have already pre-ordered the game, it seems none of that is necessary.
