You can't find out the game is crap if you nobody has every played it! Isn't that what Kickstarter, Rockethub and other crowd sourced game developments are all about though? Yes it is with the exception of preordered games can be canceled if the reviews/demo makes you change your mind. |

Contracts was basically just a refined version of Silent Assassin. It received a lot of flack for having some missions that were just remakes of missions from the first game, but those were the best missions in the first game so it didn't really bother me. Contracts was also where the series started focusing more on being hitman and less of a commando mercenary. No more avoiding ninja snipers in the mountains or running through the jungle looking for artifacts.
Blood Money improved pretty much everything. The levels were the most open-ended and interesting, the gameplay mechanics were expanded and refined, the AI was improved, the characters were more memorable and there were more ways to kill people than ever before.
For anyone to suggest that the first game is better than its sequels (especially Blood Money) is utter madness. |

As for Hitman - I really enjoyed the original but the series has got progressively worse. I have zero interest in the franchise now. What? That makes no sense. The series has gotten progressively better with each sequel. Silent Assassin was better than Codename 47, Contracts was better than Silent Assassin and Blood Money was better than all of them. I don't understand how you could really enjoy the first one but not the sequels, since they were better in almost every respect?
Seriously, I'm completely baffled as to how you can hold the opinion that you do, unless you're mistaking Hitman for a different series. I need to go back and play Contracts after our discussion last year about it...
I really must've stopped playing Contracts right before it got good. Love Blood Money though. |

The mini-game of sniping with style actually looks fun, too.
These days, when DLC and pre-order promotions are pretty much a guarantee, this is probably the most interesting one I've seen. A) You must be new to gaming. B) You must work in marketing to think this sort of crap qualifies as a good idea.

A game for preordering a game. What won't they think of next.
They could always try making a good game, but who knows how that would go.
I will say though, if you're excited for the game, this will only make you happier with your investment. Just imagine if DXHR had released a preorder game that let you win bonuses in the full game? People's reactions would be different I'd expect. |

I get where you're coming from but I feel like there is still a pretty strong need for retail on the console side of things, both for the consumer and the industry. I don't see that going away anytime soon either. I don't get it. Steam has replaced retail for PC games, reduced the price of games AND killed off second hand sales, yet it's rightfully considered a positive thing for the industry. I'm all for killing Gamestop when it is leaching off the industry, though I'd oppose Microsoft or Sony selling games exclusively through their own services - you'd need different providers, like you have with Steam, Origin and the like.
As for Hitman - I really enjoyed the original but the series has got progressively worse. I have zero interest in the franchise now. |

More then half. I have a friend that is a store manager in one of the gamestops around here and he told me that most of their revenue is made from used games and trade ins. They barely make anything on new games. Not sure how much of that is true. I think its about 60% of their actual _profits_ are from used games. They have more income from new I believe, but the margins are better on used so it makes up the majority of their profit.
That's the thing about being a parasite, when the host dies, you're probably next. Good luck, LameStop. |
