Childhood...returning!

I ordered the hint book for Wolfenstein 3-D that showed all the map layouts for all of the levels. Best. Purchase. Ever.
Ha, remember the map editors and making your own maps? I made maps and graphics (changed Nazi's heads to ant heads and tried to make T1000 liquid animations on my IBM PS/2 Model 30 286 10 Mhz! Also, I bought a SB ISA card and 1 MB of RAM for it! Fun! Too bad I don't have my works anymore.

Left up to id, I doubt we'd have seen anything for the occasion, at all. Community outreach hasn't been a big focus of theirs for years.

They didn't suddenly show up, Bethesda has been around longer than id.

You obviously do care, as you complained about it, and is it really a worse name than iD/id/ID?
It's not so much about it being a worse name, it's the fact that this new name jumps out from no where and starts talking about id Software's titles.

Sure, they own id Software. But no one cares about that. Everyone knows these titles are id Software, not another corporate name Bethesda.

Speaking of which name is better than the other, id Software is, only because of it's reputation.

Now suddenly Bethesda shows up and starts yapping about these titles? in 2012? a little late don't you think?

If you want id to hire a PR person and establish a PR site that's fine. Bethesda would rather consolidate since one team can do the work for all their brands.
That sounds fine for me, too.

Beh-thezz-duh. Try it. Quite easy, considering they take their name from the town where they originate from.
Yeah, I can pronounce it, but it's still a poor name. Sounds like crap. Doesn't roll off the tongue either.

Ya but, no one cares about that--like, who the fuck cares?

Just another corporate name, and do we really need that? Another name? Nah...

Honestly, getting tired of hearing this "Bethesda" name in relation to some epic titles from id Software.

Not to mention, it's a poor name. You can't even pronounce it.

Really? How hard have you tried?

Uhmm, shouldn't id Software be celebrating this? I don't care who Bethesda is or how much of a sister company they are to id Software, wolf3d is not yours to celebrate.

How about we get Bethesda to fuck off, and get id Software to have their own blog and celebrations? How about that? ...

Daily deal on steam, classic wolf 3d for about $1

Says its XP/vista compatible (dunno if they integrated it with dosbox or made a launcher, or what, but in any case, it should be an easy click and it runs program).

I think I still have my Wolf3D shareware disk somewhere. It's nice of them to release it for free, but I'm not infecting my system with itunes to get it.

Nice to see them focusing on the important stuff. 64-bit clients and editors are just mere toys. Porting your old games to web browsers and phones is much more important.
