And all their new high profile releases are either £40/$65 or £45/$73.
EA is trying to increase the price of gaming, while Valve is doing the opposite. And Valve offers the better service. Bizarre. Absolutely bizarre. It is any wonder that EA was voted the worse company in America? I think not. I agree entirely!
For some reason I never got around to playing the Mass Effect series. I picked them both up via a big sale on Steam a few months ago. I finished the first one, the PC version had the main DLC already included. I looked into playing the Mass Effect 2, but it will cost me over $50 to get all the DLCs. Ridiculous! It is a game that is two and a half years old. Why don't they have a "Game of the Year" edition already? At the very least they could have a reasonably priced bundle with all DLCs included.
I use to pirate games, but no longer with reasonable services like Steam. Origin and EA are seriously tempting me to pirate again...

why would anyone want to troll this?
Portal 2 was an excellent game and this addition is great. I'd like to see more companies doing this much for the players. 12,000+ maps in the workshop already!! |

I was about to say no, but then I heard "editor", "share" and "$6" Portal 2 sold really well so I'm not even sure where that comes from. It's a free content addition, they aren't desperately doing anything except giving you stuff. V - best to ignore the trolls......he derps a lot. |

Holy Shit Valve. Just holy shit. As valve has said in the past, when they do a big sale, they get exponentially more revenue from the sales. Like if they do a 50% off sale they don't just get twice the sales, its more like 10 times the sales. So its not desperation as that other guy was implying, its smart business. |

Also, you're finding a reason to bitch about free content? You're perfectly free to not play Portal 2, and continue buying overpriced map packs for other games. He must come from the camp of people that believe that if something doesn't absolutely crush everything else it competes with then it must be a total and utter failure. Anything less than 1st place is alwas an epic "epic fail" to them. Ironically these are people who will most likely never sell a million of anything in their entire lives. |

Same reason Microsoft said they won't follow the Sony path of selling digital games on physical release date or sell the digital at lower price.
They will sell the digital version on Games On Demand six months after the physical release and for full retail value. Doing anything else is just asking for a fight from brick and mortar (GameStop). |

| The low sale price must be effective, as I've seen Valve do the exact same thing with other games such as L4D2. The games will go on sale for 66% off on the same day that new (free) DLC is released. |

| meh, I don't really see it as desperation at all. More sales = more potential Portal 2 shop sales = more potential new steam users = more revenue from Valve's slice of other title purchases. |
