If you can't afford to buy an Xbox at MSRP, you probably shouldn't be buying an Xbox or any other unnecessary entertainment devices.

$14.99 a month for 2 years = $359.76
Xbox 360 base price = $99.00
Total = $458.76

Hmm being forced in a 2 year contract is it really worth it?

I'm guessing you've never done the math for a smartphone contract vs a contract free one?

Electronic Arts commits $80 million to next-gen console development.

I'm sure all of that money is being focused on the rumored "anti-used-game" components of the next gen.

This would not be such a bad deal if not for the crappy 4 GB HD. Well, that and the fact tht the Kinect sucks.

Due to the HD issue, this went from a potentially great deal to another attempt to screw over the gamers. It is really stupid, too, because the systems are at the end of their life cycles...
Nothing like a console built around downloading with no storage space.
Having just replaced the power supply on my dusty 360 slim,

It's aimed at a market that can't/won't pay the $400+ up front.

It's more like $280 up front. Kinect bundles come with 1 or 3 month free membership so they could pay for the additional subscription as they expire.

Having said that, seeing as how it's only available at MS stores, I can't see it catching on with the masses, even if it was a better price (which it isn't).

Oh, and 4 gig for storage. Whoopdefuckingdoo there...
