Out of the Blue

I assume the rain overnight around here was accompanied by lightning and thunder. I didn't hear anything, but Hudson the wonder dog woke me up having one of her panic attacks that are triggered by such noises. I did my best to comfort her, and looked at the situation as another argument in favor of MrsBlue and I accepting the offer to relocate to L.A., as they rarely suffer the kind of storms that have become the norm all summer in these parts, and I'm pretty convinced her getting so freaked out by such things is shortening her lifespan.

Did you already have the regular version? Maybe it just treated it as a patch and installed on it's own.

Steam was supposed to be adding a remote downloading feature, where you could kick off an install from elsewhere.

How secure is your account?

oh and just a warning to blue. LA might not have the kind of storms NY gets but the constant small earthquakes/aftershocks can wreak havoc on old dogs. take a look at this page for the recent ones.

if blue moves to LA we can also expect a trip to E3 and comicon plus PAX in seattle. he can also go on a geek pilgrimage to the many frys electronics in southern california. make the move already blue!

Good points there! Blue covering events like that would be awesome! Maybe a little podcast show with devs, showing upcoming stuff.

Do it, Blue!

Your first order of business after getting settled, is to book a trip due north to tour Valve HQ, as a Blue's News exclusive! :)

And the only thing I'm worried about with Blue going to Californy is that he'll end up getting hooked on surfing and extreme sports and fall in with a bad crowd like in Point Break and that'll be the end of Blue's News.

I was thinking more along the lines of Lost Boys, where Blue and the dogs battle vampires at the local amusement park.

Fuck and Yes! If you need help, just gimme a call, Blue. I'll fly with ya!

I see him getting addicted to Muscle Beach http://goo.gl/Zl5BU & working out 12 hours a day while sightseers look on. Eventually his muscles become so big he can't use a keyboard or play the accordion.

As long as the time zone change with a move doesn't affect my ability to see my news by 10am each morning, I approve.:-)

Edit: Wow, my account is from 2003. And I'm sure I read for a long time before that. Its kind of funny to think that I was probably using netscape to open blues, voodooextreme, etc.

LA is a blast, I spent a year out there after college subletting a place near Manhattan Beach. The traffic can drive you to drink (so many shitty drivers in LA) but I guess Blue is already used to that. People used to bitch about the crime rate but that's all about where you live. Lots of great eye candy too

Some people just don't age well, look at Dave Foley. I don't think he really kept himself up physically either which goes a long way towards looking better as you get older.

At least he isn't getting botox and other weird shit. He's old now, why not look the part?

It's also genetics for a lot of people.

What's with these ads for the Empire State Building observatory? Not that I have anything against it, as I've been up it myself and quite enjoyed it, but it's just weird to see an ad for it.
