Diablo III Auctions Detailed

Blizzard announces a new Global Play functionality for Battle.net to allow Diablo III players to play on servers in different regions. They also announce a new Auction House Website for the action/RPG as home to the in-game auction functionality in the action/RPG sequel. This FAQ has all the details, including how the house rake will work:

In the gold-based auction house, a 15% transaction fee will be deducted from the final sale price of a successful auction.

In the real-money auction-house, for equipment such as weapons and armor, a fixed transaction fee will be deducted from the seller for each piece of equipment successfully sold. This fee is assessed only if the item is sold. For commodities such as crafting materials, gems, gold, and other “stackable” items, a 15% transaction fee will be deducted from the total sale price.
[…]
Note that additional fees apply for players who choose to receive the proceeds of their successful auction via PayPal™ (in regions where this option is available). See the Functionality section of this FAQ for further details.

So basically you agree with Kroven about 1% of the time then? Since generally what he does is go off on people who don't like the same games he likes, then gets all butthurt when called on it?

If that's the type of poster you are, welcome to Blue's, you'll fit right in. Beatnik
You sure like to talk about him a lot though... Smitten

Kudo's for you for throwing things out of context. Especially that last quote of mine. How very cheap. I'll trust the others will notice this as well so I'm not gonna spend my time retorting, this morning.

One fast one though, those facts I claimed still didn't imply that I think my hypothesis is fact. Again, thrown out of context.

Your entire reply is cheap.

PS: Are you Krovven?

Thank for the Kudos… I just wanted to join in on the fun… seems like all most of you do is railroad each other.

Don’t waste your time with a response. I’ve read through all of your posts and to be honest you seem like an OK guy… a little weird, but I can stomach that.

But you also have to be honest, the only quote I took out of context was the last one (which was obvious I thought… don’t have to be Sherlock to figure that one out… I even put little ‘…’ to show that I left the ‘in-between’ out, still it was really funny!). You seem to have a bit of a superiority complex by the way you post… that might be what drives Krovven nuts and makes him want to attack you… but who am I…

Was my reply cheap… hell yeah. But so is what most people post here.

And no, I’m not Krovven, although I agree with a lot of what he posts when he’s not just flaming another poster.

Yeah except for the part where you bull into threads, get upset when people disagree with you, insult people repeatedly like a juvenile and refuse to apologize when you're caught lying or incorrect Clown

Maybe if you learned how to reasonably disagree with others then you'd get along with more than a handful of people. Not every person who has a criticism is a hater, people don't need to unreservedly love consumer products except in your adolescent world view Bullseye

People might even *gasp*, buy these products and still have a problem with some aspects of them. The horror! Prerelease discussion is rainbows and sunshine only, no concerns or potentially negative things allowed!

Kind of makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

Awww did I hurt the little boy's feelings? You made more than a few incorrect statements about D3's systems. Dev even tried to correct you. You make statements about the demise of the RMAH based on how single-player gamers won't be using it. It was in your first post in this thread, and repeated later on. Post 109, 118 and again in 137.

I call you out on your ignorant bullshit and you start crying about "people like me". If you don't like people like me telling you your facts are wrong and you are an idiot for making the statements you've made based on those incorrect facts, then get your information right.

You just look like an idiot trying to backtrack and claim that's not what you were saying. You said it multiple times in multiple posts.

You've stated you don't even like these types of games, then follow that up by being super critical with asinine comparisons. Diablo 3 = Daikatana? "Quinn - I played this beta and know and see and feel that it's just another Diablo Clone". Really Diablo 3 is a Diablo clone? How did you wrap your brain around that one? On one hand you say it's just another clone, and in the other hand you bitch about how they shouldnt have deviated from the standard Skill Tree system. God forbid they try something new, which actually turned out to be better.

WoW had skill trees. Do some homework. WoW is moving away from Skill Trees with the upcoming expansion later this year. Skills trees are an illusion of choice. Anyone that has played WoW with some regularity knows this. I'm glad you like fucking your character up by making all the wrong choices. You just put 40hrs into the game to find out the way it was built you can't handle a higher difficulty. Start over. That's not fun and it's a waste of time and always has been. Give me dozens of skill combos and then it's not about whether I put the right points in the right places, it's about enjoying the pro & cons and combinations of the skills I chose.

Now here is the difference between myself, you and so many others here. I don't go around into threads of games I don't like or have interest in, talk ignorant shit about them and attack the people that do like them. I will however correct stupid shitheads like you when you can't even get the information right about something you want to talk shit about.

You didn't read my earlier posts so stop trying to be a condescending smartass, Krovven. I hate it with a goddamn passion that I have to waste my time repeating myself because of people like you.

Multiplayer is integrated in singleplayer in such a way that singleplayer gamers can use the AH without the normally tedious steps of first getting into a multiplayer section of the game. In this way they'll use the AH as just that: a singleplayer AH. This is the first game with such an integration which is why my hypothesis is what it is.

Then don't make retarded statements such as the the game economy collapsing. It doesn't even exist yet and you are talking about it's demise, stringing together unrelated sentences to try and make your case, which have no merit.

I apologize if I missed your earlier explanation but I'm curious why you think the RMAH will be heavily influenced by people just going through the story campaign. They have both the RMAH and the gold AH available to them as well, I would posit they would be just as likely to use either (or none). Also the people just sort of playing for the story probably aren't as likely to do multiple replays in the same frequency as people who are playing for the MP and even if they did I'm not sure that would necessarily have any bearing on AH activity.

I agree with Krovven, I just don't see it. It's not really tedious to get into the MP side of things either, Blizzard made it very accessible and exposed well in the interface. They don't really need items as training wheels or anything, you gradually build up to that through the difficulty progression.
