Portal 2 Perpetual Testing Initiative Trailer

The Official Portal 2 Website has a promotional trailer for the recently announced free Perpetual Testing Initiative DLC pack for Portal 2 that's expected next week. The cinematic clip is an Aperture Laboratories promo, so like its predecessors it is completely serious. Thanks David.

I started it up again, you can really fly through that game the second (or third or more) time around. The defective turret section always cracks me up.

"Uhhhh... Blam! Blam blam blam! I'm not defective!"

Saxton Hale is great and all, but will he burn your house down? With the lemons?
I was playing Portal 2 right when it came out and then I got stuck on a level then got distracted with other games and never went back to play it again, until I read this news story and started playing it again last night.

I've just passed that section last night with the "burn your house down with lemons"
I am totally hooked to this game again, can't wait to get home and solve just another puzzle, then another, and another, .........

Sounds nice, an easy way to build levels, might have to pick up Portal 2.
How could you have not picked up Portal 2 already? Hand over your gamer card, now!

Ditto. There are great Americans, and then there's Cave Johnson!

I just hope the people who make levels are required to complete them before they can submit them. Otherwise I can foresee hundreds of levels that look real and spending hours trying to beat them, only to find out that you can't actually ever beat it.

I would think ratings by users in steam workshop would take care of at least part of that...

I'm curious if there was a programmatic way to test a Portal 2 map to see if it had a solution. Might be too many variables involved to brute force some simulations till you find a path that leads to the exit, but maybe not. But it would be annoying to try to tell the difference between an unsolvable puzzle and one that is just really hard.

I heard one of the screens had porn and/or a "censored" screen, but I didn't go looking for it...

Neither did I. It was one of the related videos. Here's another one that might be a little better...

Valve does this kind of shit all the time. I believe it will turn out to be true.

OMG YES! It sounds like it's going to become quite easy to build your own test chamber with this new addon. I'm sure everyone is buzzing with ideas, it's gonna be fun!

Yeah, it is pretty cool. It will be 'very' interesting to see what the community kicks out.
