I love how they're like "it's not like DirecTV's customers couldn't have seen this coming! If they'd gone over to some completely unrelated HDMI website, they could've seen that this was going to happen at some point!"

| their worst enemy ARE their technicians. those are the guys selling usb keys to turn regular subscription boxes into free for all. and they sell it for almost nothing. the only thing they charge extravagant amounts are the fully unlocked DVR boxes which go for $400 on the streets of los angeles. |

When I recently moved, the best deal on internet around here was Comcast. It was also cheaper to get a Internet + TV bundle then just internet for some stupid ass reason.
I of course hooked up the cable box to the tv. But I have had it for 5 months now and not once watched it. And I did not have cable for years before that either.

Yeah, I wait until it's on dvd and then either netflix it (game of thrones) or in rare cases buy it (fringe, boardwalk empire). I don't miss "tv" at all...
Speaking of which Breaking Bad s4 and Wilfred are due on disc in June! Whoo! |

Or better yet... unplug.
Been satellite-free / cable-free since early 2008. Netflix streaming only.
Of course, I don't watch that much TV to begin with... and between Netflix my DvD colllection, and my newly started blu-ray collection... I'm more than covered and don't really give a shit about broadcast TV.
When someone asks me if I've seen some particular commercial... I an honestly say "No".  |
