| UCSD was where my father had his liver transplant (along with a young lady) back in 87, such an amazing place, and an amazing staff of people. I wish them luck with it. |

Um, one dead card isn't exactly the scientific method in action. Out of numerous cards from both designers the one card I've had die on me is a 7800GTX. So what?
Generally both designers are good bar the one blip of Nvidia's big whoopsie of a few years back, which mainly affected laptops.
Differences in hardware reliability are between the specific manufacturers, of which there's a range on both sides. Otherwise it's pot luck. |

| ATI used to be cheaper and supposedly better than NV. They certainly aren't cheaper anymore, and as for 'better', I doubt it. I had a 9800 pro, and so far it is the ONLY vid card that has died on me. Even my old 3dfx card still works...lol. |

it’s a pleasant surprise to see it this soon since the GTX 680 is still significantly supply constrained. We weren’t expecting to see this price cut until the GTX 680 supply improved, as AMD is still the only option when it comes to readily available cards. Many people would rather wait for a cheaper & faster 680 than feel like crap for being ripped off for buying a 79xx at $570 or whatever they were going for.
