Ships Ahoy - Men of War: Condemned Heroes

IC Company announces the release of Men of War: Condemned Heroes, the latest installment in their ongoing series of World War II action/strategy games. Their store section has a list of digital distributors who are carrying the game. Here's a bit on the game:

Men of War: Condemned Heroes is the newest installment in the best-selling Men of War series which fuses tactical thinking with the action-packed direct control mode.

Men of War: Condemned Heroes tells the story of one of the infamous Soviet penal battalions during the WWII. These battalions are famous for being formed under Stalin’s “No step back!” order #227. They consisted of court-martialed officers that were given a chance to redeem their crimes, or incompetence, in blood by serving as the lowest enlisted rank in a battalion that was assigned the most dangerous tasks. These battalions’ images are surrounded by many myths, and this game tells the truth about these regiments based on real evidence from their former members.

Take command of one of these notorious companies and lead it to victory against all odds through most of the war on the Eastern front. Fight from desperate battles in 1942 in the area of Volyn in the Ukraine, to the massive operation “Bagration” in the Brest area, Magnush bridgehead and Warsaw area in Poland and finally to attacks on the German Altdam and Stettin near the end of the war.

I own Assault Squad and I really like it then I thought I'd get Vietnam when it went on sale and was I ever disappointed. I've played it for about 10 minutes then quit and deleted it.
I might give MoW1 a try because AS feels a lot like a MP game and really meant to be played in coop. Just a lot of multitasking going on which I am not that good at.

So it goes like this.
MoW1>Assault Squad>Red Tide>Condemned?>Vietnam
Vietnam did so much damage to a great franchise, while AS teased us with its optimisation while at the same time yanking away the single player campaign.

Red Tide was way before Assault Squad as far as tech and when it was released.

1c multimedia or whoever developed this is low grade. They were so lazy they didnt even convert all the models to the higher quality, some soldier models such as partisans are still old mow. Further, no coop is available, its mind boggling as to what was 1C thinking not including coop with this game, adding coop to most of those missions is very easy(yes I have experience scripting gem engine).

Lack of coop and the fact this wasnt developed by DMS(makers of mow:assault squad) + it doesnt even take advantage of improvements mowas takes in multiplayer area means this is just a cash grab attempt by 1C.

Oh and even though they included mods tab within game they did not release editor with the game as far as russian retail is considered, not sure if they plan to release it later but another bad sign.

Thanks for the heads up, I am sticking with assault squad then.

Yeah! A team or B team? I couldn't find out... looks like the kind of thing the B team would do, which will mean a crappier game than AS.

I will check out the demo if there is one, otherwise the last Men of War game (Vietnam I believe) was a disappointment. Assault Squad is still my favorite, but it is tough as nails to play it alone.
