I have my new man-stove all assembled and broken in, though it's sadly still on the lawn, as MrsBlue remains adamant that putting a grill on the deck would be as safe as flying the Hindenburg through, well something really fiery to make a good Hindenburgh analogy. The assembly was pretty straightforward, and I only had two pieces left over when I was done... Naturally they were part of the casters underneath, so I had to find a way to jack the whole thing up to add them on, but it all worked out. We have a family gathering today, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow for my first real meal on it.

sniffles I want a grilled steak, with white pepper and garlic salt on it and mushrooms.... Blue think of those who are unable to grill or have a federal grilling restraining order against them due to potentially destroying perfectly good food and/or the residence who live around them. Make sure you christen the new grill with steaks first. It has to be steaks! Wings, ribs, or any of the lesser meat and meat byproducts simply won't do.

Nothing confusing about polar bear numbers. They're so damn common it's scary, we see them in Ontario in the north and fairly far south into northern ontario. Hell they had to shoot a few out in nova scotia and quebec this year because they're getting like the black bears and grizzly's and just wandering into town for an easier meal.

Of course grills these days are designed to be safe on decks. The problem is people get ideas in their minds and are not open to the possibility that they're wrong. I'm as guilty of this as anyone.

Gas grill on the deck??? Been doing it for more years than I can remember. Never a problem or considered it risk. The only thing to watch out for (more for the old models that new ones) is unless there is a good system to catch the drips your deck will get stained. But there are lots of options such as mats that are made to go under the BBQ to protect your deck. I wouldn't use a charcoal/wood BBQ/smoker on my deck though. BTW--if that propane cylinder blows, it won't really matter where it is in the yard. You should convince her to convert it to natural gas if you have it at your place.
