Today is opening day for the New York Mets. Sorry, I can't even get excited enough to put an exclamation point there, the hard work the team has been doing to remain mediocre seems to be paying off. As a fan, I actually can't suppress the optimism of opening day, but it's next to impossible to rationalize that. One preview of the season I saw opined the team's best case scenario this season was not losing 90 games. If they manage that, I wonder if there will be a parade.

There's a contest here at work, and first prize is a ticket to see the Yankees. Second prize is a ticket to the Mets. Third prize is two tickets to the Mets. Booby prize is a Mets season ticket.

It's pretty sad - the Mets were pretty great 10 years ago but these days the team isn't taken seriously even here in NYC.

Thanks guys. Was up at the cabin last night with pops, twin nephews, and the dogs. No one is up there yet so we had free roam around the place. Was a nice start. Then the wife and I did brunch.
