DA2 is neither a tactical game nor an easily picked up action game. It can be made to be enjoyable, but only after tweaking the hell out of it, and that's why it tanked. In their quest to make DA2 accessible, BioWare failed miserably.
DA2 is pretty tactical on Nightmare difficulty. Your mages and rogues get interrupted by almost any attack, so you have to constantly protect/maneuver them and keep the enemies focused on your tank. You also have to deal with friendly fire and longer cooldowns. It took me about three hours to beat the rock void boss.
But yeah, the waves of enemies spawning out of thin air really undermined any notion of planning and strategy. It's hard to come up with a plan when you have no idea how many or what type of enemies you'll encounter. |
