So, DoubleFine already lost close to $330K of that 3.3 Million. The add in whatever their costs are for the "Rewards" |

Due to the rather unique nature of Kickstarter I can only assume they were only able to get a decent merchant contract with Amazon. I know Paypal is a total piece of shit company to deal with and other payment processors would likely balk at so many long holds being processed.

| I just kicked in $15 as well. I already have an Amazon account since I've bought plenty of stuff there, so it was dead simple. |

I guess for a somewhat modern comparison Wasteland is like an open world version of Fallout: Tactics with text-only combat. That's a really simplistic explanation and I'll probably get flamed by some neckbeard later today.
Brian Fargo is talking about Wasteland 2 being a sort of hybrid of the original and Fallout 1+2. If they get the balance of combat, story, open world exploration, and overall look just right it can be the perfect game (for me, at least). The only news of 2012 that can top this is hearing Obama fails at getting reelected. |

And the alternatives are too much hassle. Paypal would be simple 1 click affair, anything more than that, and they got themselves no backing.
Also, 29 months ago they claimed to "work on it" and to this day nothing has happened. Kickstarter remains US only for projects and only payment via Amazon Payments. Which lowers any intention of me ever doing any backing on this platform to nill.

Anyone have any experiences with the first game that would convince me to back this project? Wasteland was awesome. It was Fallout's daddy. For $15 you're not out much if it's a bomb, but I seriously doubt it will be. These aren't green developers. They're seasoned pros.

I buy the game when it's done At least then the dev makes a real profit that rewards the hard work. (If it's any good)
This would be one of these games where without seeing the Design Document i don't even click on the links anymore. RPG is so far stretched nowadays, they could mean anything from Fallout 2 to NWN2 to Dragon Age 2.
Or hell, it could even be comparable to Dragon Age Origins, which would be awesome. I want Dragon Age Origins in wasteland apocalypse universe. Now that'd be awesome no? |

Anyone have any experiences with the first game that would convince me to back this project? If you enjoyed any of the following games you would love Wasteland 2. Not just because of the setting but what Brian Fargo brings to the table. Great stories, mechanics, comedy, etc.
Fallout Baldurs Gate Star Trek: 25th Anniversary (awesome game!) Planescape Torment Icewind Dale Stonekeep
