What might be fun for you could be ruining 10 others peoples enjoyment and causing them to complain.

Not to mention the fact that people are more complaining about things like MAV-lifting, and other such exploits. The weapon balances are nice, but not the primary reason most people want the patch released.

Planetside 2 is the only military multiplayer game I'm interested in. Give me persistent war, not inconsequential mini battles.

I'm not saying its perfect in balance esp with USAS frags, but honestly I hated playing in CS servers with banned AWPS, if a weapons unbalanced then let it be, it adds flavor. It's like paintballing and complaining that some kid has a really nice gun.

A lot of people are just born to complain

Unbalanced weapons and multiplayer do not mix. What's next, cheating is ok because its fun? What might be fun for you could be ruining 10 others peoples enjoyment and causing them to complain. People want things fixed so that they can enjoy the game. Some bitching will always exist but there are problems they need to fix up.

Dear EA,

FIX YOUR FUCKING STEAMING PILE OF SHIT BEFORE TRYING TO ADD MORE SHIT TO THE PILE. EVEN FLIES CAN GET TOO MUCH SHIT.

Thank you.

Am I the only person who is a BF player since 42 that gets enjoyment out of BF3? I do only play in less populated servers, so maybe thats it.. but I swear the game is pretty fun, I can still C4 vehicles and it's not nearly as asinine as COD.

A lot of people are just born to complain. They claim that if the game is patched and these fractional changes to damage modifiers yadda yadda will improve their opinion of the game and make them play more. But in reality, they'll just find something else to complain about. I find the game fun the way it is, knowing such and such weapon is going to do .64 damage per 8 bullets less isn't going to make me suddenly enjoy it more. I don't really get it myself.

This is worth maybe $5 to me. Not $15. The Karkand maps are outstanding BF maps so I'll forgive DICE this time. I would much rather see DICE release a BF3 expansion that is like the Project Reality mod for BF2. I still play PR.

People are expecting too much from a patch, adding a comm-rose? people are still going to ignore your request for health and ammo.

weapon tweaks are a mixed bag, some good some bad. the mav exploit got blown way out of proportion, not like glitching inside buildings like in BF2 and 2142.

It's not like they're adjusting the maps, metro could use some additional flanking pathways.

VOIP is still going to require battlelog setup out of game.

Wow, $15 for 4 maps and still no sign of the patch either. There's a little poll on battlelog asking what players were anticipating most, the DLCs and the patch. Guess what is the overwhelming winner?

I wish the maps were bigger, you can still have CQ sections in maps that are fun. I did enjoy some of the CQ combat in the co-op maps, I'll wait till it's released to see how many servers are running the maps, probably won't be too many.

edit: after watching the video I sort of had flashbacks of playing Soldier of Fortune 2 multiplayer, if they added a game mode of capture and retrieve with one life per spawn it could be a winner. They're probably not that smart though.

confirmed to be $14.95

seems rather expensive for four maps and ten guns. new game modes would be the only thing that would help this out.

BF3 is the kind of game where it can be fun with or without vehicles so this expansion looks good and will buy it if its priced reasonably.

I think I'll skip this one, looks like Metro (in terms of chaos not map design). BF without vehicles isn't BF in my book.

The expansion scheduled after that though is right up my ally.

"The next expansion--Battlefield 3: Armored Kill--has no current release window, but EA said it would feature new vehicles and the biggest maps in the franchise's history."

Yeah baby, you know what I like.

Can we get an updated El Alamein? It's even in the right geographical area for BF3. Maybe a new Coral Sea too?

Shrug. You disagreed over a loose gathering of personal opinions based on facts. They're releasing close quarters infantry maps. And I like that. Can't "disagree" over the release, since that's what they're doing, and I guess you "disagree" that I "like" it. I think you just "disagree" for the sake of it without really reading anything.

Uh, you said it looks great, I don't agree that it does. It looks like a me-too effort that focuses on simplistic gameplay over quality map design. Of course that's my opinion, as if you posting is anything other than an opinion too. I never said you had to agree with me or told you how to spend your money so no need to be so defensive, I was just pointing out where I feel this sort of content isn't really conducive to the franchise.

More simply, the 2-16p SDM/TDM epilepsy inducing mappack doesn't really get it going for me. The game mode so popular they have to put it in assignment requirements to get people to play it to boot.

They've announced DLC that cater for all sorts of gamers. Their engine seems flexible enough to handle small upto large. Lucky us having variety, lucky them being able to rake in the cash on all fronts.

The game has ample variety within its scope already and I don't feel getting the mass audience to dilute the franchise is really the answer to anything other than profit margins.

Or maybe, just maybe, he was disagreeing with your "Looks great" statement. But I can understand how you'd miss that, it might require reading.

Bad Company 2 had the Rush map sizes damn near perfect. On most BF3 maps, its just too open and too far to run on foot, especially with so many vehicles involved now. BC2 played tight and it was far more infantry focused which a single soldier able to sneak through and change the momentum of a game.

That's what I want this map pack to be, tight BC2 styled gameplay with a hint of CS heroism/adrenaline rush when you know your actions change the outcome of the match.

I have little interest in CoD inspired deathmatch...

+1

The BF3 rush maps have always felt like a letdown compared to BC2. I went from preferring rush to favoring conquest (32 player) in BF3. As for infantry only maps.....why? If that's what I wanted I'd play CoD.

LOOK IT'S METRO CONQUEST 48-64 PLAYER ALL OVER AGAIN!
Everyone equip USAS-12-Frag's, M320's and SMAW's!
God I hate Metro Conquest, I see myself hating these maps too.

So what they are pushing now is basically their flavour of Modern Warfare? Small restricted maps, fast paced spray and pray gameplay??
