Out of the Blue

Well, the annual NCAA basketball tournament gets underway today, so everybody is caught up in "March Madness." Well, almost everybody: I'm certainly not, as I have never been a big fan of college athletics. So for those of you who are into it, enjoy your madness, but consider my bracket pre-busted.

Agreed, Bats. Besides, wth doesn't kill you one way or another these days? Seems everything we eat has some wonderful and terrible property to it. If you want to see how cattle should be raised and slaughtered look no further than these guys White Oak Pastures. They use the Serengeti model for their grass-fed beef - which is really what everyone should be doing.

There's also some good places to buy bison and wild boar meat. Bison is actually the healthiest of any meat going at it's the lowest and fat and highest in protein - yes even over chicken and turkey.

Still, eating less meat overall is a good idea for most of us. Yes, we are omnivores but our systems are better designed for grazing on flora as opposed to fauna. And regular fasting is good for you too. Keeps the SIRT1 gene turnd on which does you a world of good.

Yup. I am from South Dakota, we eat a lot of Bison. When I travel back that way, I make sure to buy a bunch of it. Very tasty.

Red Meat Linked to Cancer and Heart Disease.

My family moved here from Germany 5 generations ago - and were farmers until my father moved away. We have eaten red meat and taters all through those generations. No heart disease OR cancer in my family.

A few smoked and drank here and there - but still no cancer and no heart disease. Put that in your pipe and smoke it researchers.

Maybe it isn't red meat, but maybe it is what they are PUTTING in the red meat. Be careful what you buy. The study is relatively new - as in, while they were pumping crap into the meat. I can imagine of those studied, many considered fast food red meat. I don't, and we don't eat fast food - none of our family has or does.
