If it was still standard time, I wonder if the driver would have seen the student. I read that were have been a lot of deaths spike because of this DST time change. |

We play god with everything else, why not do it with DST, EVEN MORE?? I'm saying, sunrise at like 9am and set way late, 8pm or later. Let's give the people something to work for!! You ever gone to work when it was dark and gone home when it was dark? I have, and I never want to again.

It happens to coincide perfectly this year thanks to the excellent start to March (60s all week, woo!) The bike is in the shop and new pedals are on the way, by Friday I'll get to regret not being more religious on the trainer over the winter. |

There may have been a time when we needed DST - though I sincerely doubt we ever "needed" it. If that ever was the case it's certainly long past. Time to get rid of it. If I remember right, DST was for farming issues. With the hour being moved it helped keep time and the sun in more or less same order. IE, the rising of the sun was around the same time and not different times depending on the time of the year.
It's the exact same thing with spring break and summer vacation. Spring break was to help let the family have the kids home to help plant the first crops of the year and the summer break to have the kids home to help manage the crops at the point of when they would be needed most. (Also why different countries have spring/summer break at slightly different times since different areas have different needs in farming). |

Since we in Europe did NOT lose an hour, I still say YAY for earlier updates. (For us at least ) |

We don't really lose the hour, we just put it in the junk drawer with all the condiment packets from various places, to be used at a later date
Edited to make space captain happy, but then again derp is a good quote for him.
