Well, we survived our lost hour here well enough... I still have a couple of clocks to change, which will give me more to grumble about, but most of the important clocks update themselves automatically well enough (except for iPhones, of course). I should be grumbling about anything of course, especially today, as it marks the one-year anniversary of the devastating Japanese earthquake and tsunami. I saw a television piece this morning on the aftermath, and it's sad to see how slowly the recovery is progressing just due to how difficult it is to dispose of potentially radioactive debris, which is a tricky problem to say the least.

Still, it's amazing and more than a little encouraging that no health issues have popped up.

I thought their clean up method for nuclear waste was straightforward? They were dumping it in the ocean and letting it wash up on someone else's country.

The only thing more time consuming than disposing of nuclear waste is Japanese bureaucracy. Still, it's amazing and more than a little encouraging that no health issues have popped up.
