The Old Republic Patch Plans, Friends Trial

The Star Wars: The Old Republic Website has details on a Guild Summit that discussed the future of the game, while this forum fosters discussion of the Summit and its revelations. This included an unveiling of features planned for "Legacy," the upcoming version 1.2 update for the Star Wars MMORPG. This trailer shows off some of that, and here's a description what this will include: "Game Update 1.2 – Legacy will include brand new playable in-game content including the 'Explosive Conflict' Operation, a new Flashpoint 'Lost Island' and Warzone 'Novare Coast.' The next major Game Update will also include a bevy of new features including the next evolution of the Legacy system, Player-vs-Player Warzone ranking, UI Customization, Guild Banks and more." They also announce the launch of a "Friends" trial, a limited time offer to allow active players to invite up to three friends to play the game for seven days.

Still in my first month, but enjoying it enough to stay, for a month or three, then we will see. As a fan of Knights of the Old Republic (since lucas is out of this) I'm interested in the story lines.

The UI will go along way to helping a major issue with me. The fact we can't do a ctrl-v to kill voice only is extremely annoying. Since having the listen to the same voice on dozens of characters, thank the fools at Bethesda. Especially bad are the random barks like the ship droids. The best solution is to shut OFF Random Barks or just give us a Voice Toggle Off for Merchants and Ship Droids.

If this game is going down the drain as many proclaim it is this is going to hit EA's bottom line a bit, hundreds of millions of dollars that saw no significant ROI. It's going to hurt them. Guess the WoW killer only managed to kill itself in the process.
