Creston There is a much better one that you can get from the geth when you do the missions for the quarian and geth stuff . Just as a point.
Oh and you're welcome Creston, hope you're enjoying the game. |

| After DA2, I can't say I'm at all surprised at the response to ME3. I am continuously surprised, however, at the number of people who seem content to support Bioware and throw their money at EA. I'll chalk it up to lemming behavior. |

I doubt we'll ever see the lastest Call of Duty on Origin for example, but stranger things have happened. I doubt EA will ever achieve that, but I have no doubt that they would want to. They are offering other non EA titles BTW. They announced that a number of months back. |

Ah, I never bothered with the novels. I figured something like that might have happened tho'. Too bad I couldn't have chosen someone else to replace him (guess that would have ruined the plotline of ME3), because he always struck me as a whiney kid in ME1. I couldn't blame the council for not taking him seriously. *I* didn't, and I was of the same species.
Gotta say, barring one or two glaring issues, I'm enjoying the game so far. The fact they removed a lot of the tedium is welcome (mini-games, planet scanning being the big two). |

In the backstory (ie, the novels), Anderson eventually resigns as the human Council member because he gets tired of the political bullshit, at which point Udina takes over. I NEVER chose Udina, because I love watching his look of utter disapppointment at the end of ME1.

If you've read my posts you see I criticize steam when it deserves it, same with valve. I give them praise when they deserve it too.
Yet, when I praise valve/steam I basically get called a fanboi, and when I criticize them I basically get called a hater. IMHO, that just means I'm fair towards them.
I'll freely admit I have an automatic bias towards EA and everything from them, because of their long history of screwing their customers, studios they buy, and their employees. But you know what? I gave origin a try just in case EA changed since the days they tried to charge you a fee to redownload a digital game on their service after a few months. Guess what? Origin sucks. EA had a great chance to come up with something with a better interface than Steam's clunky one. Steam is right there for them to learn from and improve on. Did they bother to spend any of their millions on a couple UI programmers and make something awesome? No. When I tried it I posted a mini review on blues listing the stuff that I disliked about it. I often see additional stories on blues confirming my feeling towards it. Like creston's. He actually comes up with some imaginative insults, like "tardmongrels" I like that. Instead of continued repeating of the boring 4 letter words that everyone throws around so much they are meaningless, he comes up with something cool.
I also occasionally mention what EA needs to do to earn my money. Such as do a good sale on sims 3 collection, $200+ isn't a good sale. Or putting DLC on steam for me to buy, so I don't have to deal with trying to buy it elsewhere and figuring out how to manually install it. Or putting games on steam instead of pulling them out. Or how about come up with a BETTER than steam service? Not equal (which its nowhere near right now), but BETTER. They have the money, they don't have valve's reluctance to hire specialists, or valve's lack of adequate manpower, they have a shot at making a good alternative to steam, but so far they aren't doing too good a job at it. I don't really disagree with you Dev, except for the Steam/DLC thing, which I won't rehash here. I was merely pointing out how quick some pile on the EA hate simply because they're EA. Orgin to me is the same as steam essentially, it's just another DD program, except in EA's case they have a retail channel, one they've used for decades, and have been slow on the uptake with digital distribution.

Well fuck it, I wasnt too hyped on the game anyway but now its a no buy. So far I haven't encountered him but only at 63% of being ready to fight the Reapers. But I have encountered Thane, Jack, Grunt and Miranda so far. The way the story seems to be going, dealing with the Quarians and Geth seems to be scheduled to take place towards the later stages of the game, so it's possible he's in there. I haven't met either him or Tali yet. Actually, I haven't met Grunt either, which is strange, as I've done a bunch of the Krogan stuff. Anyone know if he's in the game at all? I think I've met all the rest of the ME2 crew - wait, no, I haven't seen Jacob either. Never really liked him tho', so no loss.
edit: NM, found Grunt.

RollinThundr wrote on Mar 6, 2012, 12:25: The other being after slogging through 2 again I'm left with the same feeling I had the last time, The entire plot is essentially playing therapists to your companions to try and gain the best possible outcome of them surviving the final battle solely on whether or not the player coddles them with their own personal issues that are in no way, shape, or form, even remotely tied into the plot itself. Ummm, you do have the option to ignore them or go directly against their wishes which usually results in them getting snuffed in the last mission. Of course, this directly effects your chances of completing the final mission, but hey, you make your choices and you bear the consequences.
There's a difference between playing your character naturally ie. making choices on the fly without a grand strategy, playing as a pure paragon/renegade Shepard or playing a min/max who'll do anything to get the perfect ending. Two of those choices are purely to appease some sort of overarching strategy and ignore the role playing aspect of the game.
eg. I generally don't pick renegade but sometimes a renegade option appeals to me. This usually means I fall short of pure paragon, but that's the game.
It would be nice if performance in the final mission was more organic (eg. related to general morale, level, how often you've use a person on missions etc) rather than an arbitrary "you did their loyalty mission which makes them autowin", but that doesn't mean you have to ignore what you would choose to do if there wasn't an advantage to be gained by following the script of 'Shepard appeases everyone'.
That isn't the point, it's that the majority of ME2's companions come off as whiny douchenozzles in the first place, and the game essentially has zero over arching plot of it's own aside from stop the collectors from harvesting humans to make a cheesy Reaper human looking terminator, kill terminator, roll credits.
I'm just about done thankfully, hopefully 3 has a better plot because ME2's sucks the cock. |

Thanks Mashiki
So apparently the face code "bug" is not a bug, but yet another "Fuck you, old fans!" middle-finger from Bioware. If you created a custom Shepard in ME1, and imported that face into ME2, it WILL NOT import into ME3.
Because, after all, why would you do anything for the people who have been supporting your franchise since the first game, when there's THE NEW SHIT to be courted?! All those 14 year olds won't have played the first game, and that's where the money lies, doodz!
Sigh. It's not a big issue, obviously, I mean, it's a face, but if you're going to build your entire franchise on the continuity factor, and this works for ME1 to ME2, why the fuck won't it work for ME3 anymore? (Other than that your programmers were too fucking lazy to bother implementing it?)
Guess I'll just have to try to recreate Shep's face. Fortunately my femsheps were all modified in ME2, so at least they'll import...
Great job, Bio. I really want to support you guys, but you go out of your fucking way to kick in the teeth of your oldest and longest-time fans. :\
Edit : Origin decided to download ~340MB of the From Ashes DLC, then complain that it was corrupt, and decided to start over again. From scratch. "IT'S JUST LIKE STEAM!"
Edit 2 : This is worth a shot for those who want to try to save their old faces. I tried it on several of my characters and to be honest it didn't look much like my old Sheps, but eh. It's worth a shot, methinks.
