The guy who wrote that Street Fighter x Tekken article is pretty clueless. X360 games get leaked before the official release dates on a regular basis. It had nothing to do with anti-DLC activism and everything to do with lack of security in the distribution process of console games. Retail stores get copies of the games week(s) in advance and all it takes is one dishonest employee to leak them.
Online activations (where essential game code and/or data must be downloaded from official authentication servers) has proven to be the most effective DRM scheme for preventing pre-release leaks. |
