But Intel would never ditch it as long as Microsoft doesn't do it first. Is a hen/egg problem. ;(

At least its relatively easy to "un-gfwl" games ,)

Was there any Info whether Windows 8 gets fully native to x64 ? This duality system kinda sucks and doesn't force lazy ass developers to compile to x64. But more importantly, if the OS were to force x64 we could finally get fully native games for x64 that use more than 3gb of ram.

but isnt the old code tied to intel specs used on their processors? if they ditched it on the processor then MS would probably follow suit.

They were pretty crap attempts at branding anyway. Should have stuck with a unified Windows name.

Do people even use netbooks anymore?

My girlfriend has one and I want one. My mother also has one. They are good for a basic, full OS. Nothing too powerful, and very portable. Cheaper then a tablet as well. Most apps that people want/know are still based on a full OS and either haven't been ported over to Android/iOS or have a crappy port (Skype on Android...)

Smartphones and tablets happened. Do people even use netbooks anymore? Why bother getting a netbook when I can get an Android or iPad tablet with as much, if not more, functionality as a ChromeOS netbook?

Windows Live was a stupid branding and I won't be sorry to see it go away.

Windows 8 still doesn't bring anything interesting to the table though.

Ballsack really ought to leave MS while it has any value left.

Who wants odds on the random older Windows Live for PC game totally breaking due to this?
