Well...there is a bigger problem here...the fact that a vehicle parked in public and was approached was considered "tresspassing". The vehicle is outside of the curtledge, which is anything outside of your house walls.....

but isnt the car private property no matter where it is located? the GPS device was not attached to the pavement. it was attached to the privately owned vehicle.

The bigger question now becomes, why are the TVs still realy expensive?

I don't know man, TVs are really cheap these days. Compare a 50" plasma today to 5 years ago. Pretty much anyone can own a high quality set for under a grand at almost any screen size. Suckers get fleeced on the high end for silly 3D functionality that won't be supported in 3 years but that always happens, people are hugely susceptible to marketing.

Great why do I feel like lives will be lost in the future. Seems to me there has to be a better way of protecting privacy and protecting the public rather then OK all off now. How about a review and no actions till the cases have been reviewed for 30 days or review on all new ones????

We use GPS devices for tracking burglary suspects....have made a lot of arrests that way or caught them in the act. Also on drug dealers, etc.

We have already talked about how this is going to affect how we investigate people. Will be interesting....I fully expect another hearing.

And here we go again, another class action suit where those infringed will get a 5-15 dollar check, companies get off the hook scott free basically, or worse yet, still get paid to screw consumers, and a small band of lawyers get the $999,995.00 in fees.

Of course nothing from there forward will change, they will just do it again later when nobody is looking. Great system!

Prices have dropped like a rock...

They can't retrieve them and waste how many millions of dollars of taxpayer money? Each one costs how much?

Guesstimate - 3,000 X $1000= $3 million.

Well...there is a bigger problem here...the fact that a vehicle parked in public and was approached was considered "tresspassing". The vehicle is outside of the curtledge, which is anything outside of your house walls.....

It makes really serious implications and oversteps the boundries of "privacy". Historically the courts have ruled you only have a right to privacy within the confines of your own home with shades pulled.....now that is blown out of the water and could cause some serious legal problems.
