but does require Online connection to play A MULTIPLAYER GAME.
People have different opinions and stuff. Many people do not view the traditional "story mode" in games as an inherently multiplayer experience, particularly if its completable solo. We can argue all day about the definition but people are going to believe what they want based on their past experiences.
Nobody really cares about the people that will only play the game solo.
I'm sure Blizzard cares about them given their numerous talks on the subject to convince those people to fork over money.
Things change. Supporting SP and MP with separate online/offline characters, that allowed for massive amounts of cheating, was a logistical support nightmare for Blizzard and made for a horrible online experience for those not cheating.
Debatable. There were character editors and cheating was rampant in open battle.net but most of the actual hacks in battle.net proper weren't facilitated by offline editing. Diablo 2 was around for a long time and Blizzard learned a lot about how to protect the experience but it wasn't all implemented day one or something.
Whether their new approach leads to less exploits and cheats really remains to be seen. So far it's a moderately successful DRM method (most server emulators are at an early stage) but the game isn't even out yet. There is going to be a huge drive to subvert the RMAH by hackers in many countries so it's going to be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
q[Those that refuse to play was is a great game because it's online required, you won't be missed, particularly those being hypocrites
Dismissive vitriol. I'm always happy to see more people playing PC games, you take the good with the bad.
