I don't doubt the game is going to be dark and gritty, but this one made me chuckle.

Max Payne 1 -> developed for PC
Max Payne 2 -> developed for PC (yes, there was PS2 port also and it sucked...)
Max Payne 3 -> developed for console...

having "special graphics hardware support and enhancements" is not the same as actually developing this firstly as a PC title rather than a console port.
Dude this is so tired. I'm an avid PC gamer like many here, but you'd think people would just accept shit for what it is at this point. Consoles are where the money is. All we can do is hope that the PC rendition will be good. That's just the way it is and has been for awhile now (ie Max Payne was released 11 years ago).

So... the port will have revolutionary new features like custom resolutions and M/KB support?

Let's not get crazy here, Jerykk. It will allow you to choose which drive to install it to!

They are butchering the whole foundation of the game. Not only that, watch what they do with Mona.

Translation: I want to pretend I'm jaded and indifferent about gaming industry news (even though I post on a site where 90% of the content is gaming news) and seemingly oblivious about this title by reminiscing the "good old days" and making specious observations regarding the perceived new style of the presentation; a snarky comment on how mainstream kids these days are only attracted to violence; regardless of the fact that MP & MP2 were as mainstream as it gets back in the day... and aside the grandiloquent and pompous overwritten style of the narrative, all about violence.

So if I find it sad that many games are similar, it's pompous and wrong? Think rather, it's you who are narrow-minded.
The problem today is that in order to recoup their production costs, they drive the mainstream to be safe than sorry. I loved the first Max Payne, the game stood out then. Now it's just the title of the games they have in common. Yes, that's a generalization but I hope you take my point there? Can tell you I have played the game ever since the early 80's and can tell you that there are not many titles today that attracts me just because they are so damn unimaginative. Imo it's actually possible to make violent games in different ways... Some good examples are STLAKER and Fallout, if you like old school fps so are RtCW, ET and Quake good other examples.

Is it still Remedy Entertainment that develops Max Payne?

No, it's Rockstar who's doing the development. Specifically the groups responsible for Bully. The engine is RAGE, the same engine used in GTA IV, hence the similarities you're seeing.

Yeah, not feeling it. I hope they can change my mind later, Rockstar usually does pretty good work.

Is it still Remedy Entertainment that develops Max Payne? I don't really recognize the style from the first game in Max Payne 3, all I get is a feeling of GTA when I see the pictures.

First Max Payne had a story with a great sense of darkness in itself, now I just see brutal violence, which I assume is to please the mainstream...? Confused

Game looks fantastic.

Here's hoping there's more of a drive behind Max's fury than his boss' dumb skank being kidnapped.
