| Kojima has hinted that he likes the First-Person genre before, and he's included first person modes in all the MGS games. (In the PC MGS2 you can turn it on permanently) So I have a feeling it will be purely a FPS instead of the usual 3rd-person this time imo. |

| The "high-end consoles" statement either means next-gen console or the current gen consoles, minus the underpowered Wii. It's a bit of a stupid statement but barely worth commenting on. |

If I had a teenager I bet they'd rather have an IPAD than a PS Vita too.
Wow, I never thought I'd live to see Sony on the decline but here we are.
I had a Sony no-skip cd player that I used to run with and lost 80 lbs. I loved that cd player. I hope Sony finds something new/cool that I can enjoy again. Going multiconsole means more money. Has nothing to do with the downfall of Sony. If you want to produce titles like MGS4, which was ridiculously expensive, you need access to the broadest base possible, and that means crossplatform gaming.
That said, MGS4 took up the whole bluray disk. Unless they plan to revive HDDVD for 360, this will need a real download option. A 5 DVD game would be awfully inefficient. Unless, of course, this is for the 720 and the PS4. |

2's postmodernism and the whole end of 3 are some of the best bits of storytelling in gaming history. Not sure if serious. MGS2 wasn't post-modern. It was just incredibly convoluted and nonsensical. From what I've heard, MGS3's story is no different.
Best storytelling in gaming = PST. MGS? Not so much. |

You sure you didn't mean to post that in the youporn thread? No, I only watch Tranny Surprise myself!

| The plots aren't impenetrable, they are just delivered in such a ham-fisted manner through hopelessly convoluted dialog as to seem impenetrable. Maybe I've just played too many Japanese games. |

I thought the Solid series was over, and Rising was the next game?
I quite liked the plots. A lot of thought went into them (which really comes out in the exposition scenes of 3 and 4) even if some of the elements are a bit zany.

My hatred of japanese non-sensical plots and my hatred of trial-and-error stealth games makes me hate these games, though I admittedly played about 5 minutes of the original MGS. Which is how much of the original MG I played.
Man, I can't believe trial-and-error games have been around that long. |

| The Metal Gear games are a guilty pleasure for me. The plots are impenetrable and ridiculous, but I've always been a sucker for the Japanese style. I may get this. |
