The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav Next Month

Daedalic Entertainment and Deep Silver announce The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav, an adventure game due for Windows PC on March 23rd. This seems to be a separate project from The Dark Eye DEMONICON, the frequently renamed action/RPG using the same setting. The game's German Website features a teaser trailer and images showing off the game's hand-drawn graphics style, and here's the announcement:

Hamburg, February 8, 2012. Daedalic Entertainment and Deep Silver present a video-teaser for the PC-game The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav, in which sequences of the game are shown. The gripping The Dark Eye-Adventure takes place in the familiar fantasy world Aventuria. In the tranquil Andergast the protagonist Geron gets on to the track of a mysterious crow plague and, with the help of his mystical companion Nuri, starts a mission to find the source of the evil. What dangers will be in their way are shown in the video. The teaser trailer, footage and further information can be found on the official homepage at: http://www.satinavsketten.de.

In The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav players will witness a brand-new adventure in Aventuria and accompany the trapper Geron, who will be involved in an incredible conspiracy in the Nordic kingdom of Andergast. Andergast, where people have a strong tendency to superstition, has been at odds with neighboring Nostria for centuries, but now first steps are being undertaken towards a lasting peace. But the burgeoning peace and the euphoria of a royal festival are disturbed by a mysterious crow plague. The aggressive birds even attack humans.

As the belligerent creatures infiltrate even the castle itself, the king seeks a skilled bird catcher an opportunity for young Geron to prove that the reputation for ill luck that has followed him since childhood is undeserved. However, the task proves much more difficult than he expects and leads him on the path of the greatest adventure of his life that will take him to the borders of the charted lands of Aventuria and beyond.

Hand-drawn locations in dazzlingly detailed HD, challenging puzzles, an engaging storyline and lovingly animated characters await adventure fans in this classic point & click adventure game.

The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav will be released March 23, 2012 for the PC.

Uh, "The Black Eye" would be worse, as that's actually a thing and almost certainly not what they're going for.

Thought for a moment that this might be a sequel of some sorts to this adventure gem:

I find it actually even more hilarious than that.

The German name is "Das Schwarze Auge" (translates to) The Black Eye
They translated it to "Das Dunkle Auge" (translates to) The Dark Eye

So now the name of the whole franchise is actually wrong, it ain't a dark eye, it is a black eye. Heck, why not "The Grim Eye" ?

Anything would be better than dark... urrrgh ,)

That is funny.....

Finally a game about the perils of GPS.

This is an astonishingly ill-conceived name. Satinav? That sounds like what a toddler calls mummy's Tom-Tom.
