An interview on Gamasutra talks with Super Meat Boy co-creator Edmund McMillen about Binding Of Isaac, revealing plans for The Wrath Of The Lamb, an upcoming expansion for the "roguelike-like" game. Here's word on the add-on, which is due when it is done:

My goal is to try to trick myself, once again. I wasn't entirely happy with the game until I was able to trick myself with the random elements and happenings, so I wanted to add so much more. There obviously is going to be more of the same, I think I added 50 items, 20 trinkets (which are a whole new set up), and then as much rare and random happenings as possible.

There's basically two paths, there's an alternate chapter per chapter. What I've shown is the cellar, which is an alternate to the basement. So you could start your game, and it might be cellar 1, which has different enemies, different rare rooms, different bosses, different random happenings that are going to be new to the mix. Then the next level you might be in basement 2, or maybe the next level you'll be in cellar 2. It'll just choose randomly from those.

Yea, the sheer amount of drops and randomness of the game, powerups, hearts, etc etc etc makes for a VERY different play through everytime. The game is totally different everytime I play.

I think its more because its a flash game that they "ported" over to the OS of your choice (at least through the Humble Indie Bundle). I don't know how easy (or possible even) to allow for a game pad to be used through a flash game and would be why they tell you to use Joy2Key. (also if you go to the website shown at the start, Newgrounds.com, its a home for flash games)

Its also been the biggest issue for performance with the game, as it is one hell of a CPU hog and doesn't touch the GPU (again to what I know its because of the flash aspect of it). I've had massive frame rate drops in the game and I'm not using a weak system (nor am I alone). I have a Asus G53JW-A1 gaming laptop which has more then enough power to run a game as "simple" as this but the flash part is a bottle neck for it.

Took me a while to get used to the kb on this one, but have played the hell out of it. non stop zelda dungeons.

How about they add gamepad support? I fired this up the other day only to discover they want you to download some other program off the web in order to use a gamepad. Seriously????
