It wasn't sarcastic at all. If you read all the articles there are certain cheaters out there actively working to get innocent GGC-stream and PBBans GUIDs permanently banned, and as far as GGC-Stream and PBBans admins are concerned they look totally legit and can't be appealed.
If everyone is banned, then there is no one left to play the game.
Errr fair enough but it is very trivial for them to undo bans over a date range and they can always reban the actual cheaters later. There is no way they would just leave the banlist intact if it suddenly inflated by 200,000 over a few days. It's not really a big deal so long as they deal with it instead of taking forever as Dice is prone to do.
As for the games popularity it seems to ebb and flow with the patches like most other games. I never have problems finding decent servers and I host a few myself which are full the majority of the time. Things were much worse a month ago, the Skyrim launch pretty much bankrupted the game of players for quite awhile
Skyrim hoopla dying down and the Karkand stuff reinvigorated interest which has remained pretty high.
Of course they could triple their player base by simply putting it on Steam but that's a bitch for a different thread.
