They should offer on demand payments. I rarely watch movies, TV series, etc. online. It would likely have to cost more than the subscription to be worthwhile, the subscription rates are very reasonable so I don't really see it as an issue. There are plenty of other on demand providers already. Amazon's VoD prices are good enough to me. I would like to see more VoD sites for competition. |

They are on demand, have a huge catalogue including many new releases and you can get near Blu-ray quality titles for $5-$6 a rental that stream flawlessly. I've been using them for new stuff and Netflix for TV and older stuff and the combination's been fantastic. No one talks about Vudu for some reason but it's a great service. Interesting, but "Watch VUDU in SD now on your PC, Mac, or iPadŽ. Note: Free Trial/Activation credit not available on these devices." since I want free samplers and only watch on my computer to my old 20" CRT TV from 1996. No HD for my LCD monitor? BTW, I am in USA. I guess I will stick with Amazon. |

it was not that simple. Netflix was getting significant pressure to pay lots more $$ for digital content by the owners of digital content. And ISP's were asking for $$ because they said netflix was using too much of their bandwidth.
The jig was up for netflix from a few fronts.
The actual bad news for consumers is that all of the above makes cable TV companies very very very happy. Its like its the 80's all over again. |

I truly do not understand how a company can fly so high... and then plummet so quickly. Hubris, I suppose.
They should have realized that, like Coke, you just don't mess with the formula. The minute they started fudging with the DVD versus Streaming portions of their business was the minute they started pissing off their customers. |
