This was formerly called Openanno, I've never played any game from the anno series, so I can't really tell if it's any good. But it's ptobably worth taking a look. http://www.unknown-horizons.org/ |

Maybe if everyone pirates the game 10 times over Ubisoft will see that the demand is huge and will drop DRM in hopes to convert some of those players to payers.
Oh wait... I forgot that Ubisoft thinks DRM lowers piracy instead of increasing it. |

Hell, if they don't believe the huge amount of people in gaming forums (including the hundreds on their own forums) who proclaim the DRM cost them a sale, I doubt a letter will make a difference Actually, a letter is something that would likely make a significant difference. Making a post on a forum is quick, easy and painless - as well as anonymous - so forum posts tend to be ignored. Writing a letter, on the other hand, shows that you actually care enough to put in the effort and be identified. I forget what the letter writing to irate customer ratio is, but it's pretty high. |

SOLUTION: Buy the game and then use the cracked, DRM-free version. If you want to write a letter, write a letter to RELOADED, telling them how much you appreciate getting rid of the horrific DRM, they truly deserve our praise! Without groups like RELOADED, gamers would not be able to enjoy the games in their full glory, without the restrictive and insulting DRM imposed on them by draconian publishers.

Wake me when you drop this crap completely, idiots. God, Ubisoft is butt-stupid.
If you don't buy Anno 2070 you are not making a point against DRM but a point against even semi complex economic simulation games.. that are fun.
Result = No more games like this. But still hundreds of games with this DRM. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot (if you happen to like Anno) Wow. In how many ways is this logic wrong... |

That will tell the publisher that I love the Anno series so much and that type of game that I'm willing to break the law and risk being charged of the crime. At the same time I'm saying that the part of their game I didn't like was their DRM, so I removed it. |

unless i've been living behind a rock there are no other games even REMOTELY like Anno, that are not Anno.
Economic sims there are aplenty sure, but Anno is Anno, settling of dozens of islands, huge maps, complex economic change with focus on trade-routes and complex good transportation systems. 2 Diverse interacting factions...
I am not seeing any other game like this.. and certainly not set in the future like Anno 2070 Then I guess you better buy it, dumbass. |

As I have already said many times--UBI should stop making PC games--just get out of the PC market. They have ruined every single PC franchise that they have touched, regardless of thier DRM.
People that continue to buy UBI products really need to get help from a mental health specialist. |

Jesus, just give it up already. Hahaha, yeah I was thinking the same thing. They dont get that not only graphics card get tested, but also RAM, CPUs, motherboards, drives, etc, etc, etc. They need to die already. |

| Ubisoft is only the publisher because they bought the IP when they "bought" Sunflower (a German Publisher back in the days) So its even sadder that the series now has gotten Ubisoft's fascist DRM regime. The Anno's before didn't have it. ;( |

Anyhow, fair point i guess i will turn it down 2 notches.. juts saying.. Anno 2070 is pretty nice and my favorite chill game currently.. so yeah.. made even a personal mod to get rid of that god annoying blur I get where you're coming from though. Most niche titles are exactly the kind that can't afford to bother with DRM which is what makes Ubisoft being their publisher so unfortunate. |
