Obviously you and I have completely different definitions of "shitty engine". Short of CryEngine3, I don't know of another engine I'd take apart from UE3. Considering every single aspect of UE3 was designed explicitly for the 360 (and it shows)... As most of the features in CryEngine 3 were... as were the Gamebryo engines that Bethesda uses... as was id Tech 5...
There really aren't any PC-centric engines out there right now that are worth much of a damn, plain and simple - and rolling your own is beyond the expertise of, well, pretty much everyone. |

How's that working out? Worked out well for Arkham City, didn't it? Whose fault is it if features aren't used? And I'm fairly certain virtually every feature shown at GDC last year goes beyond what consoles can do.

Turns out deleting client blob file is the fix. I haven't had to do that in forever.
Wouldn't surprise me if valve forgot to forward port fixes for that that they've fixed in past versions of steam. They've done that before in games.
Come on valve, hire some fracking dedicated UI and server people. And maybe do a bit more testing before you push things out.

| Dungeon Defenders is tower defense, and that's getting to be over 5 gigs now (with all the DLC added probably more). |

Sidenote: Defense grid has over 1 gig of install. Thats a fun tower defense game. Says 200MB, but when you look at the properties of the download it's about 900MB. I would if I could... except it won't let me.
Anyway, as I mentioned, defense grid is about 1gb, and I'm sure its not the only tower defense game to be around that size. Just depends on the graphics and videos. |

Edit: BRILLIANT! THANKS STEAM

What the FRACK would you let someone buy it (aside from pre-order) if they can NOT install it and play it RIGHT THEN?!
Please hire some dedicated UI people and server people. kthx
