Don't play TF2, but it seems Steam pre-orders get the short end of the stick with Kingdoms. A few lame add ons for an old game?
With Amazon, you get a few useful items and a weapons pack. Never mind it is 15% off if you do digital distribution. I also had a $9 off code for this game specifically when I bought some other game on Amazon last year, bringing it down to $41. |

Just another reason to pre-order from Steam at the MSRP. Been watching that stuff for awhile, and most games only get 5-10 dollars off on other platforms on pre-orders. Then the price usually drops off some in the first 1-2 months on a sale through Steam...if you want to have it on Steam.
Or if it's steamworks.....you can order elsewhere for cheaper if you want it. Just won't get the TF2 items.
I honestly don't see any harm in it. Encourages interest from TF2 players in other people's games...and vice versa.

Actually, putting TF2 items in any game of any genre is a very smart marketing move these days. It ensures tons of sales which the game would otherwise not have gotten, as those items will feed into the TF2 economy, which is an amazing beast in it's own right. |
