You have any source for that? I seriously doubt that the PC version of Skyrim has sold more than 6.5 million units, which MW3 managed in a single day (and that's just U.S. and U.K. retail sales). While I'm sure the PC version of Skyrim has sold well, I don't think it's sold that well.
I think he's taking the 10 million that was announced by bethesda and assuming that since valve talked about steam in the same press release saying it was fastest selling steam release, the number was all on PC, when in reality that 10 million was # of copies shipped all platforms combined

Since I'm used to critically reading stuff looking for the slants that companies try to put on things (or in political polls, looking at exactly how the questions are worded to slant it the way the group wants it), I saw that right off. Someone who is skimming very fast and trusting companies in what they say, might not see that.
Edit: I did find it interesting though, that in november (launch of both MW3 and skyrim), skyrim outsold all other titles three to one on PC. At least thats what beth says. Incidentally, since they previously announced shipped 7 million, then announced shipped 10 million, I have no trouble believing they sold through all initial 7 million shipment and had to print another 3 million. As to how much more they've actually sold vs shipped, I don't think its beyond possibility that in the following month (which includes christmas) since the press release, they've sold a total now of 10 million.
Edit 2:
MW3 hit $1 billion in 16 days, which is faster than avatar did which is fairly impressive saleswise, regardless of how I feel about the game itself.
