| Ultima 7, graphically speaking, is about on par with the Spiderweb software games like Avernum and Geoforge. These are games one doesn't play for the eye candy or visual aesthetic. That said, they are so strikingly ugly that I had to force myself to keep playing until the gameplay became engrossing enough that the visuals no longer mattered. How long that will take varies from person to person, but if you have any appreciation at all for great CRPG's with staggering depth, rest assured it WILL happen. |

Grab it on GOG. Hell, even with the dated graphics it still looks better than crap like Minecrap or half the indie stuff out there. And if you love CRPGs they don't come much better. This is a game that desperately needs to be updated by someone like Obsidian.

No, it's not. Sure, the graphics aren't great, but the story, ambiance and everything else are just fantastic.

You should be okay with Ultima 7. You can see where a lot of today's crafting mechanics in RPGs got started. Look up Exult on your favorite search engine for a better experience with it.

In your own article you mention that the delay was to Fiscal 2013, which begins 4/1/2012. That meant it was till 75% likely to be a 2012 release.
Now they're reducing that to 0%. |
